"God is loving, but a major part of what He loves is His own perfect character, with a major aspect being the importance of maintaining justice and righteousness. Though God pardons sinners and makes great provision for expressing His mercy, He will never negotiate  His justice. If we fail to understand that, the cross of Christ will be utterly meaningless to us."

- R.C. Sproul

the return...

I have returned. Not to boast about my life and make you feel as though you have no social life. But rather to praise God and spread the fire to your very soul.

How great is our God and worthy is He to be praised.

He makes the sun to shine everyday. This may seem like a very annoying thing if you've been up all night and desire more sleep before work, school, or day-life to begin. But can you imagine the sun never ever shining? How eerie that would be? The sun shining is a reminder that God has the day planned; trust in Him and live.

ponder this:
Can you imagine what Adam and Eve must have thought when their children began to lose their baby teeth?

"O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens" -Psalms 8:1

think before acting...

Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by
civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes,
forgetting that it was there long before they were.

A certain lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back.

Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the
local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day
at the mall. When that individual read the response from a Luke AFB officer,
I hope it stung quite a bit.

The complaint:

"Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base: Whom do we thank for the
morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 a.m., a tight
formation of four F-16 jets made a low pass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west
over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet. Imagine our good fortune! Do the Tom
Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to
impress the cashiers at Mervyns early bird special? Any response would be
appreciated."

The response:

Regarding "A wake-up call from Luke's jets" (Letters, Thursday): On June
15, at precisely 9:12 a.m., a perfectly timed four-ship flyby of F-16s
from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of
Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt. Fresques was an Air Force officer who was
previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May
30, Memorial Day. At 9 a.m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at
Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and
friend. Based on the letter writer's recount of the flyby, and because of
the jet noise, I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of
taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave
them their son's flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all
those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they
have endured. A four-ship flyby is a display of respect the Air Force pays
to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional
aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter
writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects.

The letter writer asks, "Whom do we thank for the morning air show?" The
56th Fighter Wing will call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow
and parents of Capt. Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their
honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives.

Lt. Col. Scott Pleus
CO 63rd Fighter Squadron

Jeoffrey Benward

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeoffrey Benward (born in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is a well-known Contemporary Christian Music singer and songwriter. He has been involved in the Christian music business since the 70s, but achieved significant fame when he formed a duo with his then-teenage son Aaron called Aaron Jeoffrey.

Biography

In the 70s, Jeoffrey actively toured and recorded garnering a reputation as one of the industry's most accomplished singer/songwriters. During his early solo career, he released three albums for Forefront Records. He also co-wrote Phillips, Craig and Dean's #1 hit "The Concert of the Age."

In the early 90s, Jeoffrey was surprised to find out his son Aaron wanted to follow his steps. They decided to form a duo debuting in 1995. They ended up releasing three successful albums together, being also nominated for several Dove Awards. In the late 90s each of them decided to follow their individual careers. He released a self-titled album in 2000. Father and son still perform together occasionally.

This fine vocalist and song-writer was at the church I visited today. I had never heard of him but he has obviously made his place in the world and has been quite the instrument used by God. I enjoyed hearing him use his gift to glorify our Creator.

He also sang his song "He is", below is what someone had to say about it and I felt that it captured the song quite well.

"Fantastic and clever lyrics based on the books of the bible. Each book is captured in a one line phrase when taken overall shows the wisdom, breadth, and holy story of God and man. "

what a blessing it is when I am blessed to be around those who live their life in accordance to God's desire and they die to themselves because they are crucified to the cross.

this guitarist is pretty much amazing. His guitar skills and transitions have me fascinated. I think he sings the song better than Muse. :P I don't really like the song but this guitarist makes me like the song because of how it sounds.
